3/4 relocation kit and spring???
« on: January 05, 2006 - 05:19:38 PM »
I'm sure this has been talked about many time now, but I just wanted to be sure.

For a Challenger. I bought the Mancini e-body 3/4 relocation kit which is mopar p4120078 front hanger and p4120076 shackles slong with the spring seats. So my question is in regard to the springs to use. I guess from prior posts, that the A-body XHD ones are the ones to use if you dont want to use the super stock ones due to the larger arch of the SS springs. Is this correct AND is that the correct shackles to go with those springs? Seems the a-body uses different shackles, so I'm a little confused. Or should I get B-body XHD springs?

When I bought the relocation kit, I assumed the e-body XHD springs would work, cause the picture in mopar performance catalog looked like such. As a side note, that picture of p4120078 is not the e-body part that you get.

Thanks Hemidog, I guess the difference in the shackles is not because of the spring then. I'll get the A-body XHD springs then.

1-10-06 Update: The A body XHD springs came. The rear eyelet in the springs for  the shackles is smaller by about 1/8", so the bushings in the offset shackles will not fit. I had ordered the poly bushings to use in the shackles, so what I plan to do is have the OD turned smaller so they fit.

I got everything from Mancini, but there must be a better solution that will just bolt together. If anybody is thinking of doing this, looks like Dr Diff's kit works with e body springs so this probably is a better solution.

The E Body kit on Dr Diff is 1" .. will that bolt in with no other changes?

Also, how is handling effected by moving the springs inward? I'd still like to go around corners... fast   ;)

it bolts in But you need to move the spring seats oin the diff 1 " inboard will not be noticed in cornering as much as 1 extra 1" of tread

Here is a pic of Mopar performance p4120078 (rear spring front mount). Completly different than the picture from the 2005 catalog. It has 2 positions for the leaf spring front bolt, so you have 1 1/4" adjustability.
