New center cap mounting???
« on: February 07, 2006 - 07:20:51 AM »
I am working on my 70 challenger convertible and blasted and painted my wheels and I am having new tires installed today.  I broke out the repo center caps I bought that look great but there are no threads in the mounting holes.  Should I tap them out, get self tapping bolts or are there some other fastners I need?  Thanks Allen

Pretty sure they just use self tapping screws, I got mine at year one, I think there 5/16ths hex heads. Rich.

Yep, they are put on with self tapping screws. I don't know the size, but they are 3/4 inch in lenght.
