Challenger out side door handles
« on: January 28, 2006 - 01:04:18 PM »
I'm to get my poop straight on Challenger door handles.  A friend of mine has a driver side door handle that is curved out at the bottom that he says is for a '70 Challenger only.  I looked at the handles on my '72 and they both seem to be flat, they do not follow the curve of the door.  Is he right?  He would like to find a correct door handle for his '72 'Cuda, possibly trade.

Just Check the number on the handle.  886 and 887 are '70.

the Chall & Cuda handles will interchange but are different , the Cuda has a convex curve & the Chall has concave like the pic above Cuda ones are available New from Mopar right now

But is this a '70 model year only deal, or is this true for all production years?

Joe can straighten this out if I'm wrong, but as they said abover 70-71 Cuda - convex (inward) curve, 70-71 Challenger, concave (slightly outward). Then the bean counters steped in and they started a generic flat handle for all e-bodies. 886 and 887 are the Challenger only handles that best fit the body contour.
