LD340 edelbrock intake
« on: January 31, 2006 - 07:44:14 PM »
Does anyone know anything about Edelbrock LD340 intake?  Got it with my car.  The guy had it ported to go with the engine (318 with 340 X heads) but said it wouldn't fit.  I haven't had time to really check it out.  He said he was a GM guy, but from what he was told there is like a LD340 and a LB340?  If so, whats the difference?  Any info would be great, as this thing has been ported to match the porting on the heads and I'd hate to not be able to use it.
                                                            Thanks,
                                                                       HSD

the LD 340 was definatly one of the best intakes & should fit a 318 with 340 heads no prob
there also was a LD4B which was similar to the LD340 but with smaller 318 ports

Thanks, I'll have to check it out closer.  I know the block has been zero decked and the heads surfaced, so maybe the bottom of the intake just needs a little shaving.  I would love to use it.  Looks good too!  It's been powder coated.

LD340 was a kickass manifold. I "juist" sold mine on ebay.. went to a single plane offenhauser for my 340.
LD340 is as good as the Airgap IMO. Lots a torque.

Feel dumb asking this, but aren't these intakes suppose to be pretty expensive?  This could possibly be a good buy for someone.

the RPM range is basically 1000-6000 , it has larger runners & but being a dual plane still retains the low end powerband
