Dark or Light

I am not going to assume this since the last time I assumed something was when I sold my first challenger assuming that was the right thing to do.
I understand that there was a dark or lighter grain used on the dash of 70 Challengers. I think I have the darker grain am I right?

Hard to tell with all the dust and cobwebs in there First pic looks like two differant shades but I thought there was 4 different shades?Don't know

OK, I don't want to assume anything either... but here I go. You are talking about the woodgrain around the gauges???    If so, yours looks pretty darn nice, if you ask me.  No, there weren't different shades, but often it looks like the switch panel is a different color than the gauge side. I put new ones on my car 2 months ago, and in the picture they look different, even though they aren't in real life.

there were definatly some "tolerances " in the shade of the woodgrain , + 35 years of UV doesn`t help but I have never heard of a production difference in darkness

One more question on this,were the originals a set?What I mean by this is did the grain in the wood match on both pieces? Most I have seen do not match but then again mine have been upgraded with pieces from different cars. any pics of some originals out there?
