Wow, I thought they would be like soft rubber and would be hard to clean, I picture the dirt and fluids seeping between the tiles and under the floor. But I'm sure they must fit tight.

I don't get it. What's wrong with a plain old concrete floor? It's a garage and each one of the stains/spills adds character. I'm just old school i suppose

You're right and it doesn't hurt to have a floor with reminders of all the spills or drips or whatever and it does have character. But a coated floor is so nice to clean up, it sweeps up easier, spills clean up much easier, it's easier to roll that creeper around and you could even color code it to match your cars if you like! I like both, as long as I have a place to work indoors, I'm not complaining.
