Hey, Hurricane!

From one newby to another, welcome! And don't dis a 318. There have been loads of articles recently that tell you how to get an honest 400 hp from a lowly 318...and with off the shelf parts, too. My Charger has a 318 that was overbored .030 to get it up to 323 c.i. I then added new pistons, rings, bearings, a MP Purple Shaft bumpstick, new Aerohead cast-iron heads (police versions), Hedman headers, a swap meet Edelbrock aluminum intake and a new Edelbrock 4-bbl 650 cfm carb, a high volume mechanical fuel pump and the dang thing will take a 5.0 Mushtang in the 1/4! With some late model 360 heads (smaller combustion chamber with quench) it should be deep into the 13's.

But the performance is fine for a parade car, now.

Good luck on your resto...what a present and it is a terrific starting point!
