    I can see inside the housing somewhat and can see why the needle is stopping where it shows in the picture. Can't tell whether there is some kind of adjustment to have it stop at 0. Maybe the folks at Redline can shed some light on this issue.

    A part number search on MyMopar.com for #2984185 yielded the following: CUDA, CHAL 70-74  E-BODY 7000 RPM TACHOMETER. The concensus seems to be that the 7 grand tach was only available from 71-74. Does anyone know of a 70 E-body that came with a 7 grand tach?

    every 70  have seen has the 8K tach , some 71s May have had it but not all
