FYI, that car did not sell, it was bid up to the 4.1 million price but did not reach the sellers reserve. There were a few guys I know pretty well attending that auction, it seems that many of the bids were suspect.
Bottom line, when discussing auctions or any other public sale or negotiation, unless the car actually changes hands to a new owner for a solid price, you may as well disregard what the bidding results are, they could be nothing more than a well publicized marketing effort in hopes of inflating the percieved value of the cars being offered.
