Anybody been sick all winter???

Just curious if anybody else has been sick all winter. I got a cold back in Oct. and have pretty much been sick since. My throat has a constriction in it and it's hard to swallow. Before we went to Cancun the end of last mth., I went to the Dr. and he gave me some high powered anti-biotics.(lavaquen) He said if this didn't cure me we would have to get a throat specialist to run a camera probe down my throat and see what's wrong. After we got to Cancun in about 2 days it felt better. But now that we've been home for 2 weeks it feels like it did before. I'm starting to wonder if I have throat cancer as every morning I spit up blood and yellow mucus. Hope this doesn't gross you out. My wife is sick, and we both have terrible headaches. I hope its just being sick, but after so long I,m ready to spend the money and have the probe just for the peace of mind.

My advice is simple:  you know what is normal for you.  If you have been having something abnormal going on for several months, I would go get it checked out.  At least you could rule stuff out.  You might be allergic to something in your house and being closed up with it is aggravating your allergies.  Just my 0.02.        ..Oldschool

Dave, how old and what kind of furnace do you have? A rather continual headache (you and your wife) + sore thoat could be form of carbon monoxide, fuel not being burnt cleanly. Do you have co detectors? Man it ain't nothing to mess with as I'm sure you realize. It wasn't an issue while you were away, but when you returned?............. Call your local fire department, they'll gladly come and do a complete test and It won't cost you a dime. Just call them, explain and they will tell you exactly what to do/not do until they arrive, and this is very important for an accurate test. Make the call !

use a humidifier as well , it really helps

I would get this checked out immediately with doctor, and i mean doctor not some 'newb' whos just gonna give you some anti-biotics. Hopefully nothing bad. But as far as me Im sick OF winter

I agree with WSM . . . maybe your heat exchanger has a crack and leaking toxic fumes??   That is a logical reason for your sickness!  I would check it out!
