440 oil pan "699" ???
« on: February 23, 2006 - 01:01:33 PM »
440 oil pan  stamped "699" on it. I don't know what the engine came out of, but it had this pan on it.

Will this pan work in a 74 challenger that has a 318 k frame?

Rusty, the "699" pan is a 72-73 c-body pan. I'm not sure if it will fit or not. The 402 pan is correct for an e-body B/RB engine. The other option is an MP hemi reproduction pan. Those hold an extra 2 qts of oil in the sump which is a good thing.

as I understand the C bady pan fits the E body fine but the reverse is not true , the E body pans interfere with the steering in a C body
the Hemi pan would be a better route though
