heres how i see it,
3000 to start 500-1000 for a good roof
700-1200 to have it replaced
another 500 for 2 quarters 1200 to have them hung
another 1000 to have metal welded in fenders/rockers/whereever else
now you have a body in primer even if im half off on the prices thats still a pretty expensive starting point 5000 for bodywork and paint
now you need an interior /wheels, tires all new mechanicles like brakes  fuel lines
now its time for a drive train  $$$$$$$
got to racingjunk .com   search challenger ,there is a nice 340 4 speed for 6800 obo

You are correct in your estimate and I agree. I just spoke with the guy selling the 73 and he had removed the fenders from the car to put on another 73. Which made me a little a po'd and of course dropped the price down to $2000-2500 delivered. It would still be a ton of work just to get everything back to even a stock looking ride never mind the performance parts.

I'm just disappointed at this point and very discouraged. One word comes to my mind at this point.

DAMN.

I was only a bit perturbed, I just wanted the car whole, untouched by anyone else. The more pieces that get removed the more of a pain it can be to get pieces back to the car, not to mention if you haven't worked on one of these in a while you might not know what is missing from the picture. Or even worse, a pain to find again, whole metal fenders are not easy to come by

Pissed would be a bad word. Discouraged, now that would be a better representation.

Tis all good, the guy I am working with at least is a good guy. We may still do business yet. I think that 2000 for the car in its current condition maybe do-able, plus another 200 for shipping. $2200 total.

What do you guys think?
