dried out valve seals
« on: February 25, 2006 - 07:27:08 AM »
I've learned from earlier posts that starting up my 12 years sitting motor should be all right but the valve seals are probably dried out. Should I change them or will they seal up after awhile?
I may be schizophrenic,
but at least I have each other

Valve seals do deteriorate from the heat, etc.  If your burning oil it's not going to get better.  The seals themselves are a relatively easy fix.
