Noisy PCV

Got my Challenger started for the first time today. Everything seems good except the vacuum going through the hose to the pcv valve makes a lot of noise. If you squeese off the hose it's quiet. I was sondering if anyone else had encountered this problem and if so how did you resolve it?

Have you tried a different PCV valve ?
 where is the PCV connected to ? it should be on the base of the carb not in an individual runner on the intake

   What is the difference where the PCV is connected? I think mine might be connected to the intake.

Below the carb into the intake manifold is fine. At 3 bucks a pop, replace it and make sure you have one for the correct vacuum rating.

having the pcv hooked to the carb is better as it will evenly distribute the pollutants from the engine to all cylinder not just #7 or 8 cylinder , it i sbetter to have the power brakes hooked to the intake

Thanks for the replies, The vac is hooked up to the base of the carb and I have tried 2 different styles of PCV valves. The only thing I can figure is the amount of vacuum at idle causes the noise. If you increase idle speed it goes away. I have the engine idling around 700-750 with the noise.??

that is certainly logical , the vacuum your engine has ay exactly that rpm is causing the valve to flutter

UPDATE: Was not able to find a Fram pcv valve so I was in the local "pimp boys" store. They had several rows of valves on the shelf so I looked up the one for my car and located it. Started looking at it and saw another one next to it that looked identical except it had an "A" next to the part #. After studying them a few minutes, it turns out the one with the "A" in the part # does NOT have a spring it it. The ones the books say fits all the chrysler v-8's does. The one with the spring is like the one I currently have installed and was causing all the noise (spring pressing against the vacuum). So I bought the one without and tried it today. NOISE GONE!!!!!!!! I never realized the difference in the valves. I guess you learn something new every day. So thanks for the input everyone.
