Challenger RT/SE questions..need advice
« on: February 25, 2006 - 07:42:58 PM »
Hi CC,

I have a friend that is inheriting a 70? or 71? Challenger RT/SE and may be willing to sell it to me.  I am a Cuda guy and don't know much about them...except that they are great looking cars. I may be interested if it is as nice as he says (can never have enough e-bodies).  Can you Challenger oficionados give me a brief rundown on what I should look for to verify it as an RT/SE or any special options it have may have over a base Challenger.   Any help or advice would be appreciated.  Once the estate transfer is settled I will try and post pictures and vin tag info for you when I can get a good look at her. Thanks again for your help.

The SE was not available in '71, and the VIN should begin JH29 or JS29. There is another SE thread on here with a lot of info, give me a sec.....

good luck  Ed !
Just remeber you can't go wrong with knowing the engine code in the vin and if the car is numbers matching   RT/SE  is a very sought after car . But even clones bring $$$  .
It should have the smaller rear window and  with your luck a perfict build sheet .

If it is a true R/T SE it then the VIN should start with JS29. If you decide not to buy it make sure you post it on here so us members can get a shot at it. BTW, if you choose to do that I call first dibs ;D
