Question about Barracuda Strobe Decal (not AAR)
« on: March 01, 2006 - 04:54:05 PM »
I have a '70 Barracuda Gan Coupe and after the painting is done I wanna use the regular (not AAR) strobe decals on the car. It came with body side molding but I am not putting that on. I believe this decal would be correct for a '70 Barracuda Gran Coupe anybody know anything wrong with using this decal from a historical perspective?
Would there be an entry on the fender tag for this option? If so, what would it be???

Thanks!

The V4_ stripe was available on the Barracuda or Cuda, in black or white.

They were available on the Cuda only in Lime Daylight Flouresent or Pink Daylight Flouresent. They are coded on the fender tag.

The V4_ stripes were not available on the Gran Coupes.

Barry

Hey Barry thanks alot! I have a couple other questions about the codes and packages below, I hope you don;t mind.

So the V4 strobe decal would not be correct for a Gran Coupe, huh, bummer. I was kinda wondering what it would look like with the GC Fender badges.
Do you know what options in decals were available for the Gran Coupe?
Mine had body side molding (V5X) but I don't think I wanna use that!
Also came with M31 Belt Molding, and P6A8 trim code what is that?

What was included in the A01 light pkg?

C16 for month/day built?

M25 Wide Sill Molding, that is the aluminum panel that is screwed to the rockers, correct?

I also found my car on the Hamtramck Registry with a misc prior history listed,  220313 BP23G0B220313. Can you tell me what info you may have. I have owned the car since '84 or '85.

Thanks a bunch!
Sean

Hi Sean,
As far as I know for the Gran Coupe, only the V5_ molding was availabe which includes a pin stripe around it. I am open to corrections on that one, anyone?

M31 - Belt modings are the ones at the top of your doors and they continue to the rear quarter where the C pillar meets the rear quarter.

 P6A8 breaks down like this;
P - Premium
6 - Vinyl bucket seats
A8 - Color, Black Frost

The A01 package varies from car to car, some cars came with more goodies than others. You would need a broadcast sheet to know for sure. Your car is coded for the fender top turn indicators which is normal for a Gran Coupe.

C16 - Sheduled Production Date (SPD) December 16th, 1969. The car could actually have been built three weeks prior or later than this date.

M25 -  Yes.

The record I have on your car is from 1982.    :cooldancing:

Did you buy the car from John Unser of Albany NY?

T/Ake care,
Barry

Hey Sean,
Here you go;

EN1 - End of codes, assembly line 1
C55 - Bucket Seats
G33 - Outside Remote lft mirror racing - chrome.

I do not have a record of the car that matches your engine, I will start a file on it though just in case it shows up.

I will email you to get your address so I can mail what I have for your car out to you.  :woohoo:

T/Ake care,
Barry
