Whatever you do and whoever you go with, just be very sure you understand what they tell you about how they will repair pitting. They do re-chrome pitted parts. Pitting is just like rust, it results in the loss of base metal. Minor pitting in open, flat areas can generally be sanded/polished out and filled with copper. Deeper pitting usually requires the acid copper process which is more expensive. It requires filling, polishing, filling, polishing until the pits are filled. Similar to the primer surfacing preparation prior to paint. All of the polishing throws a lot of heat at the parts. In my case, the trim piece was a 5 ft. hood spear that was very narrow and had pits in places that were very difficult to polish. It resulted in loss of definition of the surface and warping. The plating itself was great, but they ruined the part. I don't think you will have this problem on the tops of the mirrors. Mark your parts before you send them in, too. Hope that helps...
