Anybody Installed GoodMark Quarters??
« on: February 26, 2006 - 09:00:50 AM »
Anybody out there installed the Goodmark Challenger full quarters? They are tooling them for the Barracuda and I was wondering what kinda luck the Challenger guys have had with them. I spoke with the company regarding availability of the Cuda ones and they said they are a ways off, but they said they were spending 500,000 to get the tooling right. Incidently they have fenders on the drawing board and the Challenger ones are only a couple of months off, but I heard that before. Thanks! Sean

I just yesterday fit my passenger side full goodmark quarter on my 71 challenger and it fits like a glove!  very nice fits all around and not very hard to get to fit right.

500,000!!!???? They would have to sell well over a thousand before they even saw a profit on them......

Thanks for the info on the quarter fit, that is great to here. Are the body lines right on like advertised?

Like I said the salesman said the Challenger fenders are supposedly coming out in a couple of months, but I have been waiting for the Cuda quarters for I wanna say almost a year now, but if all reports are favorable it will be worth the wait. Yes the 'salesman' told me they were putting 500,000 into the tooling and I thought the same thing that's a lot of parts to sell, but remember I was talking to a slaesman from the company so take it for what it's worth. I also would caution people to look around price wise on these it seems all of the normal companies are buying them and reselling Year One, Paddock, etc, so shop around for the best price. They all seem to sell the same stuff and the prices can be quite different. I hope this helps and thanks! Sean

My 73 has the Mopar/Cross Canada/ Goodmark stamped right quarter just fitted. The body guy says the fit was perfect. Pictures to come when I can figure how to do all of this on this site.

I just helped a guy put one on his Challenger, the fit was nice and the shape was close to OEM. The one minor area that I found off was that the compound bend that follows the wheel lip around was not as crisp as the original (bigger radiuses on the corners) with a slightly flattend area just above the wheel in the center, the line down the center was also not quite as sharp. I will say it's much better than anything else I've seen in the past!

Thanks for the info guys, so when I do my quarters is it adviable to try and get away with patch panels as opposed to doing the whole quarter from Goodmark???

I know I still need to see how much needs to be done on the but if it is say an area where the lower patch panel would cover what do you think??

Thanks!

If your quarters are good below the midway body line I'd try to save as much of the OEM metal as I could, if there are countoured areas which require replacement I'd buy the (more expensive but better) full quarters from Goodmark and cut/use only the part of it you need rather than to replace the entire thing, it may end up being work, but the best metal is original metal, save whatever you can.

I purchased the quaterpanel skins from Year One and found they just would not work where the lower valance panel met the quarterpanel.  I went ahead and sprung for the Goodmark full quaters and installed them without a hitch.

I am not going for a concours restoration as some professionals do,  but for my restification I see nothing wrong with the quality of the part.
