71 Challenger center link clearance

Kia ora everyone
I was wondering if anyone could help by suggesting an optimum clearance between the center link and the sump - (383 engine) because the clearance I have seems quite small at about 5mm or around 1/4in.

1/4 is OK , check your engine mounts possibly the engine is sitting low or you have the wrong idler arm making it that close but even so as long as it doesn`t hit it will be OK

A friend of mine rebuilt a 70 and had the same problem as yours. We found out he installed the center link upside down.
