« on: March 05, 2006 - 07:27:56 PM »
I bought the brackets and road lights for my Cuda. Does anyone have any directions on how they get installed? Thanks! Sal

I know someone on here has to have installed lights on a 71 before.

Could anyone perhaps email me a copy of the page in the body manual where they show the road lamp mounting? I have now ordered a book, but I am looking at 10-12 days delivery. I'd like to get these lights added right away. A closeup picture of someone's lights on a car? A drawing, A hint? I'm dying here guys!  :1zhelp:  :banghead:

Thanks! It's been pretty frustrating. I have looked at those brackets 100 times and tried holding them up in the vicinity of where they should be and just can't seem to figure out which is left, right, top or bottom. They don't seem to correspond to any pre-drilled holes. I am at a loss. I know it's probably something real simple. lol. Many cars on here with the road lamps installed. I'm hoping someone with a 71 will give me a clue.  :dunno:

I think they bolt to the bumper bracket between the bumper and the bracket.  The stud on the road lamp is angled so it really can only go one way.  If you look at the pic below you can see the lights sit about the same area as where the bumper bolts are.  Post a pic of what you have and we'll figure it out!   Hope this helps.

I have been told that they changed mountings in 71, but hopefully they are close enough to figure out. Here is a picture of what I have except my brackets have a gold cadium finish like that found on the brake systems.

Hi A383CUDA,
Got this out of the factory body service manual for 1971. I think this will
help you out. Goodluck!  Jeff

Thanks Jeff!  :woohoo: I knew sooner or later someone would pull through for me. I will take another look at it. The picture appears to clear a lot of stuff up. Thanks again! Sal

Yep, I ordered 71 brackets, specified 71 brackets and received 70 brackets.  :walkaway:
I contacted the guy and he's gonna give me a refund, apparently he's out of the 71 brackets. Would have been nicer to have received the correct brackets the first time though. Still, got to give him the benefit of the doubt.
