best source for Rallye trim rings?
« on: March 16, 2006 - 05:11:15 PM »
I was thinking on putting together an extra set of wheels for my car. I have a set of OEM wheels and 70-71 caps but need the rings. I prefer the polished look over the brushed. The Eastwood site apparetnly no longer sells them; whats the best deal out there now for these? I saw this guy on Ebay - anyone tried these out? Is there any place cheaper than this?

Holy crap...  :o  :o  :o

If you indeed have 15 inch wheels, this is a steal!!!  His feedback looks good too. A few years back I paid about $85 for a pair from Laysons. Now the disclaimer. It appears he knows these are after-market, so I believe there will be a tiny space between the trim ring and the wheel, but this will be minimal. Unless you are going for total original kind of stuff, I would bite.  :grinyes:

thanks for the response - is that gap indicative of the gap  you would see on a 15x7 rallye wheel? I thought you only ran into a gap like that when you stepped up to an 15x8" wheel?

On a 15X7 wheel, you shouldn't see a gap like that. I just wonder if he has the trim ring on all the way.  :dunno:

After more thought, it looks good all the way around in that picture, just not at the top. Given his feedback, I wouldn't think he would be selling junk. I just think the trim ring isn't pressed all the way on because it looks OK the rest of the way around the wheel. Here is a picture of the after-market 15X7 trim rings I bought from Laysons.
