Paint color question
« on: March 14, 2006 - 01:09:43 AM »
I just repainted my repaired grill for my '73 Barracuda. Used rattle can, dark argent from Totally Auto which is a heavily textured paint. I finally found a replacement filler strip that screws to the bottom of the grill and that has to be repainted as well. I am guessing the color should be the same, but should I use the same, heavy textured paint that now covers the grill? If no texture, where can I match the color of the dark argent, without the texture added to it? And, to be honest, don't know anything about painting what I think is rubber. Is there anything in particular that I need to do to that surface as a prep for the paint?
Thanks

Several manuf. make trim paint for flexable parts.  Eastwood or your local parts store should have some.  I used it on my fender seals and radiator shroud and it makes the parts look new.
