E-body window plug questions, help!
« on: March 05, 2003 - 06:27:58 PM »
I have a 73 Chally.  I want to use a window plug from a 70 RT/SE.  I have the frame, glass, chrome molding, and interior moldings.  It should fit fine after I grind down the studs in the current window opening right?  Is there any kind of gasket that goes between the plug and the body?  If not, how did they keep it from leaking.  I don't think the vinyl top could keep water out. Where can I find a vinyl top to fit this car?  Am I missing any parts?  Thanks, Steve

theres no gasket the frame just screws into the metal the glass would normally go into BUT there is a gap that will show if nothing is put in between this space silicone is what i used, coat the top w/por15 for protection against rust inside also if you put on an se interior after you have the plug screwed down tight and the molding screws in put on your vinyl top,se emblems then glue in your glass, then the trim for the rear window, you can get a top from legendary do you have the se emblems also do you have the chrome trim that goes around where the vinyl top ends? these complete the look of an se good luck steve make sure the lines of the top are even! another thing to keep in mind is though the se's look cool the truth is its hard to judge where your back bumper is so backing up in one can be touchy you definetly need 2 mirrors!
