correct LH Door Handle for 70 challenger?
« on: March 09, 2006 - 12:14:37 AM »
I am trying to figure out the correct part #'s for door handles on my 70 challenger... I think the RH is correct because it has a slight concave shape and the part # 2999886 seems to be correct. However the LH side is flat and the part # is 3760217...I think this is for a Cuda.

Anyway - can someone please confirm this? I didn't pay too close attention to how the LH fit but I am assuming it would be better if I got the correct concave part...

any want to trade a cuda part for the correct challenger part? the handle are in good shape just dirty with a little overspray.

my book shows 2999882 R & 883 L
3760214-5 are the last #s used & also apply to the new repopped Mopar handles

http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=16371.0 I found this thread... that is where I got the part #s. I have searched a couple of other boards and have heard of -"2999882 R & 883". I guess it would surprise me... I guess as long as it has the correct concave then it doesnt matter if it is 883 or 887..

Anyone?

EDIT:

3760214: door handle rt side 1970-74 E body outside $98.45
3760215: door handle lt side 1970-74 E body outside $98.45

does anyone know if these parts have the correct concave design for the challenger?

Hi, The LH door handle on a challenger is 299887. the RH is 299886. The left hand door handle was often replaced with tthe newer 3760215 because that was all that was available.

I found my correct numbered 70 Challenger handles on e-bay L 299887 R2999886. Just becareful they list all handles as fitting the 70 and they will just not correctly. I had mine redone and they now look like this.
