Yep, she's "Come a long way baby" ! Does look fine.
I'll have to reread your one post, but.........why won't clearcoat work over the flat black? Are not all base coat paints a flat finish, then the clear shot last?

Yes all base coats are flat.
But they were using a semi gloss clear to protect the black paint and still get the flat look.
I think they just had the Ratio's wrong.
