Damaged chrome trim be saved?
« on: April 03, 2006 - 06:07:55 PM »
I have a cuda belt trim chrome, top of drivers door, that is kinda beat up but also has a small ~.090 dia hole worn thru it at the front corner.I know the dents and scratches can be smoothed out but can it be welded and finished without seeing the weld repair area?I have no need for it as mine does not have the belt mouldings but will sell it to someone who does if it`s worth fixing.

Hmm Torred, I really don't know if that'd be repairable.  I suppose if someone was quite desperate for the part, they could probably have it patched then rechromed, but I don't think there is too big of a demand for them.  A decent set usually sells for about $70-100 on eBay, but that's usually including the drip rail moulding, too.
