70 Cuda headliner bow problem
« on: April 06, 2006 - 12:12:37 AM »
My 70 Cuda is only the 2nd headliner I have ever put in. ( My 71 Challenger RT being the first)> I can't seem to get the winkles out of the sides and have tried a hair dryer. Looking at it I wonder if the headliner might be sewn wrong as when I pull the front tight it puts wrinkles in the sides between the bows. I have tried to pull the side down and fasten them but the wrinkles never go away. I may take some pictures Thursday and post here. I'm not sure what the order of the 5 bows are as mine were out when I bought the car and no one marked there order. They are color coded so if some one knows the colors and order let me know what it is. I put them next to each other and it looked like they were all the same if I remember right except for one bow. If anyone has any ideas please let me know as my Challenger headliner turned out perfect.

On the wrinkle remover I found that a hair dryer just didnt cut it (and I had a big one)  :banghead:

I plopped down $10 at Harbor Freight for a dual temp heat gun and that thing kicks butt. BIG difference in performance and removes wrinkes quickly. I dont know if this will help but I used a circular motion starting outside and moving in towards the wrinkle.

Thanks for the advise. I have got it all installed and will know try the heat gun to see if I can get the wrinkles out.
