So I finally got the undercoating on the car. I started prep work on Sunday and just finished laying the coating tonight. I went with Gator Guard II, which is a 2-part epoxy truck bed liner system. I used a Schultz gun to lay the stuff on. It took FIVE kits to do the underside of the car, the inner fender wells, and the inside of the quarters all the way from tail to door. I have one more kit for the inside of the fenders. Goes on pretty easy but it pretty messy. I used a full one-piece painter's suit from HD. That is a requirement for this job! I masked off areas I didn't want covered, including various mounting points on the underside of the car. I stuff threaded areas with tape. I laid a big plastic drop sheet on the garage floor, but I should have covered the ENTIRE garage floor!
So far, so good. Looks good. Built enough thickness to cover up blemeshes, but didn't go as thick as you would for a bedliner. No pics as of yet as my other half (some would say better half) has the camera and is out of town at the moment. I'll post pics as soon as I can.
