Fiberglass Fenders for 1970 Cuda
« on: February 16, 2003 - 10:48:07 PM »
Does anyone know a company that sells good quality replacement fiberglass front fenders for a 1970 Cuda? I have seen some fenders, but I dont know if the factory side marker lamps will work because there are no flanged mounting openings for the side marker lamps.

I just sold a set of steel fenders to a guy and he was complaining about the same thing - the sidemarker lights not being cut in.

Anyway, he wasn't the only one I know who was trying to get away from the fiberglass fenders so in the end, although getting harder and harder to get, you probably would be happier and better off with a steel set - which I can no longer help you with.

I would agree, stay away from the fiberglass fender idea.  If you do find fiberglass fenders, I will guarantee you they will not fit perfectly without some fabrication.  You are better off with steel.  Besides, fiberglass will sag and get stress fractures in a short period if time.  Just ask any corvette owner.
