We have a pile of work shoes in our garage that we don when we work in the yard etc...   About 5 days ago, I was going to put on a pair of them to cut the grass.  Since I hadn't worn them yet this year, I shook them hard to check for critters.    :22yikes:   The right shoe had a black widow in it, and the left shoe had a spider that I am not sure what species it was.  Needless to say, ALL of those shoes have since been removed from the garage.  Glad I took the time to look first..................     :cooldancing:    ...Oldschool

My partners wife also got bit by a brown recluse.
3 operations, almost lost her leg, a hole in her knee the size of a half dollar and still pain almost 2 years later.
It also bit her while sleeping.

Since we're on the topic of spiders. I was wondering what type of nasty critter spiders will I have to deal with if I decided to move to Northern Arizona, Southern Utah? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Also, what is the best way to ward off spiders or try to keep them away? Thanks again.

I was looking at homes in the Houston area and some of the really nice ones listed a feature called "spider away",
but did a search and couldn't find anything on it..?
