Carburetor flooding

I've solved the flooding with a new needle/seat and float. exchanged the brass plugs for clear ones for adjusting the float without having the gas piddle out.seems like a good idea to me.
Cars running good at this time.
Bought a vacuum / gas pressure tester at sears..no instructions.
Question: Since the fuel line will be disconnected, is just cranking the starter good enough to get an accurate fuel pressure reading ? same as when running?

Thanks CP . I'm feeling less intimidated fixing my car now that I've gotten my feet wet
(hands dirty?) again.
It had been over 20 years since I finished my '67 and pretty much all I've had to do since then was drive her.
Then as a middle-aged guy I buy this 440-6v monster and was a little overwhelmed and realized I had forgotten alot mechanicaly.
I'm not the type to take my car to a garge. I still change my own oil etc..
You and the other board members have been life savers by answering questions (no matter how stupid) which has restored confidence in myself.
