1970 440 HP for sale, fresh from the machine shop
« on: April 28, 2006 - 10:17:57 PM »
If anybody is looking or in need of an original 1970 440 HP ( F440 ) get in touch with me. Its bored and honed .040 over with all the pistons and rods, steel crank. I've got two sets of heads, 906's and 915's. You can get either or both. I can assemble it or ship it un-assembled. I've got some pics too  :ylsuper:

I'm in the Bay Area, California. I have about $1500.00 in the short block and I'll take offers.

All the internals are original. The crank and rods have the correct casting numbers. I would be willing to ship it. I can get it to a terminal to save you some money on shipping. I'd like to see the motor go to a 70 RT or Cuda that's missing its 440. I went through a lot of work getting this engine ( F440 ) but then I changed direction with the car it was going in.

You can e-mail me @ 427vette@sbcglobal.net

Thanks

Art

I paid about $175.00 a few years ago to have it shipped from Maryland to California. Figure about $200.00 to $250.00. If its more than that I'll cover the rest.

have the heads been machined at all or would they need to go to a machine shop? You said the crank was steel?... I thought all the cranks were cast? Do you have receipts from the work you did?

Seriously interested, please call me at 512-431-2109.. thanks - Brent

Both the 906 heads and the 915 heads were just machined and are ready to go. The crank casting # is 2536983. Its listed as "Forged" in my book not as "cast" as the 3751242 73 crank and some others. I'll give you a call on the 12th. I have it listed on craigslist out here and may put it on ebay soon. Thanks! Art

PS I had the hardened seats put in both heads...
