Cam Change Without Engine removal?????
« on: May 14, 2006 - 10:56:17 AM »
I have a 71 Cuda 340 and originally I had thought that I just needed a new Hyd lifter that made a faint ticking but when I pulled out the lifter I noticed it badly worn on the bottom and sorry to say also noticed that the cam lobe is also worn......so...I guess a cam change is also needed.
My question is........how difficult is it to change the cam with the engine still in??  If I remove the rad will that give me enough room to pull the old cam out and guide the new one in or would the grill also have to be removed to get enough room???

Thanks  "Tim"
