Rear Defogger??
« on: February 25, 2006 - 01:53:18 AM »
Hi
My Cudas got a rear defogger unit in the rear parcel shelf- ( Blower screwed to the underside of the shelf and a rear facing vent cut into the top - orrible!!)

Looks like a seventies aftermarket item- Just want to make sure its not some rare Mopar option before I scrap it!- No mention of it on the decode etc but as my car was special Export model I want to be certain.

Heres a couple of pics- anybody seen one before?

Thanks

Mark

I have never seen a factory one that looked like that or was that poorly cut into the rear panel

I have an extra blower motor and 6x9 adapter plate left over from my recent installation. That defogger you have pictured looks pretty crude. The grill screen kind've reminds me of chicken wire.

my 72 doesnt look like that. mine didnt have that adapter like posted for the 6x9 speaker. my defroster took the whole speaker spot. now it just sits in a box  :roflsmiley:

Yes, I have an extra blower and mount plate also - I guess most prefer to have two speakers back there and if they have to have the defroster, will buy the combo mount adapter
