Mopar Atlantic Nationals
« on: May 21, 2006 - 08:46:11 PM »
Hi gang,

I spent Saturday afternoon at Raceway Park in Englishtown at the Mopar Atlantic Nationals. It was my first all Mopar event and I was truly blown away by all the great looking cars. The swap meet section was loaded with Moparts and I was able to pick up a couple of items I was missing for my 71 Cuda. The drag strip was roaring all day with classic Mopars running down the drag strip.  It was even funnier to see a beautiful '70 Roadrunner running with a '06 Dodge Hemi Charger. Guess who got their doors blown off.  Although I brought my camera, the disk went bad and I was only able to recover one pic.  This GA4 car must have been special as Galen Govier was taking pictures of every little part on it.  All in all it was a great way to spend a Saturday and my four year old really loved watching all the "Zoom-zooms".  Hopefully this Mopar fix will tide me over until Carlisle.

71340RT,

I was wondering if that was your car but I guess not.  Since my 71 Cuda is a GA4 also I wanted to snap a pic to show my family what mine will look like when it gets painted.  Here is another view of the same car.  Ed

That Challenger is one of my cars.
We were there with it and also the 65 A-990 Super Stock car behind it.
XV001 didn't make it as it was getting prepped for a magazine shoot and no time to bring it down and back again.
We will have it at Englishtown at the end of the Power Tour, which we will be doing most of - probably pick it up on the 6th.

The 71 Challenger was a dealer demo car and heavily optioned - 2 fender tag car.
It still has it's factory locking gas cap and original date coded exhaust.
Everything works on the car right down to the A/C.

Wasn't sure what car we should bring besides the A-990 so we chose the Challenger and alot of people liked it.

There are some more pics of it here:

John,

It is a truly a beautiful car and I did notice the two fender tags.  I will be at the end of the Power Tour at Raceway Park and look forward to seeing XV001.
