I have been looking for other mopars to restore and looked at a 1971 challenger tonight. I was wondering if someone could please decode the fender tag. I wish I could post a picture but I did not feel confortable asking to take pics because this man has recently had items stolen from his property. This car is for sale and he has asked me to make an offer. The man is the second owner and had bought the car back in the mid 70's. It is a factory shaker hood car (complete) and also had the cassete with recorder. Here is the tag break down:
N41 N96 R26 V6W EN2
V1X U C16 C56 J25 M21
CF7 N6X9 000 A20 008557
E65 D32 JH23 N1B 188632 VIN JH23N1B******
Car is a roller, no motor or tranny, otherwise complete. Owner does have a late 69 date coded 6 pack motor and matching 727 that will go with the car. (motor is in need of a complete rebuild and is lacking 6 pack set up). The car is otherwise complete but in need of a full restoration. Trunk and floor have serious rust, as does bottom of front fenders and front dog leg of rear 1/4's. I want the car....but don't know what to offer the guy. I want to be fair. The shaker hood was original to the car and in very good shape however the original motor was a 383 with a 4 barrel. So I assume the base plate for the shaker would have to be changed to a 6 pack. I know pics would help immensely.....I can take some after I buy it. Would anyone care to make a guess as to the car's value. Remember it needs a FULL restoration. Thanks in advance!
