Congratulations on the new job!  I know of bunch of Delta folks who haven't been quite as fortunate. A 30X40 garage.....ahhhhhh, heaven!  Good luck!  Are you going to continue restoring cars in your spare time?

Congratulations Ed on the new and hopefully more stable job. As far as metal buildings, are you talking also structure? They may cost some more and a little longer going up because of the crane work needed for the structural beams but boy are they worth it. If your talking that size a 36X48 would probably not be too much more. I say that because of the 12 ft. sections of steel in the cross bracing, less actual construction mods. necessary, a few less hours in labor time. That's the size I have and it is a blessing and lots of space. and with 14 ft. peak ceiling you could install a lift later if you wanted. My building was made by Shenango, I think that's spelled correctly, not sure where they are headquartered though. And when your garage is made of steel and concrete it obviously will be one solid and sturdy building. What kind of timetable are you hoping for? I know..............the sooner the better, right?  :roflsmiley: Good luck.

I just did one end of last year, not something i would want to put up myself. It took a crew of 6 approx 2 weeks to put it up with a crane. You can click on my wedshots page to look at mine.It was a Borga, which has a local factory so if they was any problem I could go pound on their door.My advise is buy one from a local manufacture if possible, avoid "dealers" that have it shipped in from who knows where,if parts are missing your stuck.May sure your local city/county inspectors are familiar with the manufacturer you choose, otherwise it will never pass permits.Never buy one on epay, you will never get a final inspection on one it all the i's arent dotted and T's not crossed,of course calif is probably the worst for that stuff.I ordered mine 5 months before i got it,be prepared to wait.I had the pad cut, concrete contractor pour that slab and a contractor put up the building.Make sure you upgrade the concrete now if you plan on putting a lift in it.I went with 6 sack 3500 psi concrete for a 4 post lift,if you plan on a 2 post you will have to do footings while the concrete is poured. My end cost was 26k
