Charging issues
« on: May 31, 2006 - 08:03:49 AM »
While out driving last weekend, my car's light's dimmed, car chugged, then closed down.  Battery is brand new.

Seems my charging system isn't working...any help on where to start and how to check where the problem may be.   I'm not familiar w/ how to check alternator, voltage reg. Etc.

Cudaaah ( w/out power )  HELP!

Like I posted on your other thread,
Make sure that you voltage regulator is TIGHT on the firewall, Then it is probably
the black wire coming from the alternator, where it plugs into the dash bulkhead connector. The cheap male female connector can't handle the current.
You need to extend it, drill a hole straight through both sides and splice it to the other black wire on the other side with a bigger rmovable end.
