Some torque fell out
« on: June 02, 2006 - 10:20:41 PM »
When I first got my 'Cuda it was pretty stout even for a 318 ,when I would get on the throtle it wasn't shy and the tires would chirp when 2nd kicked in ,but I was worried about the motors internal workings.I could tell it was built to be sold ,not because some loved it so I tore the engine down the first winter I had it.New rings and bearings ,more aggressive cam ,edlebrock performer intake ,650 holley ,hole-shot converter and tranny rebuild with shift kit.Now my launch is not near as aggressive and the tires don't chirp when 2nd hits.Tranny is at full kickdown at WOT and the throttle seems very responsive. All I can figure is ,either my lil heads and stock exhaust manifolds just wont flow good enough for the new items ,or the cam was a bad choice.Any opinions/feedback?  :dunno:

Typical , the bigger cam & intake will kill bottom end power & on a 318it is even more sensitive to using Exactly the right parts to gain power
