It used to be very painful for me to walk up and down stairs, and when I asked my doctor about it he recommended Glucosamine & Chondroitin (hope I spelled it right). That was about 8 months ago, and now my knees are much less painful ... more like the dull soreness I felt after a long forced march with backpack.
Hi POC,
what fantum said isn't a bad idea. Since I was little I've been plagued with a bad left knee. I started taking that stuff (can get it at Costco/Wal Mart) and my knees have been great. Stayed off that stuff for a bit and the pain came back. Went back on and now I'm fine.
I had sort of a bone spur on my heel also. I made sure to wear slippers in the house all the time that had good cushioning and it helped alot.
I can understand that you want to "get in and drive". The car's no fun to drive when it's in pieces. Fun to work on, but you can't drive a pile of parts.
Do what makes you happy and what is right for situation. Of course if you ask a bunch of die hard Mopar guys if you should keep you're Challenger the overwelming answer will probably be "yes", but you still have to see the answer through your eyes.
Yes, this can be an expensive hobby costing thousands of dollars. But what is your hobby? Wrenching or wrenching on a Challenger? You could always sell this car, get the Prowler, and then get a cheaper project. What's your goal of the project though? Just to play with or get it road worthy?
I like others had an old car I regret selling but you know what? It's what makes the situation work that's important. I sold my old '69 LeMans convertible to go back to school. It was hard but I said to my self once I'm done with school I'll be able to get something later that won't need as much work. Along came the Challenger.
What ever you do, no regrets!
