Which headers for 440

In my Charger I ran Hooker Super Comps and although they were nice, tehy were way overkill and killed my low end torque, but they were coated and I got them cheap. 
So knowing that I know that for a mild 440 I am looking at headers with a primary size of 1 3/4 and staying with 16 gauge or better.  What brand are you guys with big blocks running in your Challenger.  I am interested to know if you would buy them again or not (if not why).  Here are some I was looking at but am concerned with fitment w/power steering and automatic.

Any other opinions.  I don't want to spend $800 on headers that I will have for more than likely only 2 years.  Eventually I'll pull the 440 out and build a killer small block, so I would rather start saving my money now.  I WILL NOT reuse those Hooker Super Comps, no way!

Everyone here will recommend the TTi ones for 800 bucks. I was also looking for some alternative. The Hedman Elite's look good to me. I was also interested in the Schumacher tri y's, but by the time you add in for ceramic coating, you might as well buy the TTi's.

Does anyone have 1st hand experience with Hedman Elites?

te floetechs are marketed by holley. they are certainly cheaper and will probably do the job but there may be clearance
problems with the converter housing but i can't swear to it. there is a footnote in some catalogs stating clearance
issues with manual equipped 6 pack engines but i did not encounter any such problem but that may be due to the fact that i'm using the 10.5" bellhousing & not the 11". but it is a pretty snug fit.

I researched headers alot before i ended up getting Hooker super comps. used for cheap.  The flowtech's look like a good deal but the 2 1/2" collector was the only thing that kinda worried me.  I mean you can't just go and pick up 2 1/2" collector gaskets at your local parts store.  If that design was so great why are they the only ones that use it?  Next would be the headman headers I've had 2 different sets of their headers and while a decent price still not the best quality in my opinion tubing seems kinda thin and their welds good be alot better too.  TTI's are a great header's but lil bit on the pricey side for my blood but thats what you get to have something custom made for your car.  And TTI's also fit tighter to the block that normal run of the mill headers which is great for installing them but a pain if you have to drop out the tranny or do any work in the area.  Good luck!

Well both the Hedman and Doug Thorley have 14 gauge tubing while the otehrs have 16 or 18 gauge, so I will try one of those.  I remember when Doug Thorley headers were the ones to get, anyone have any input on that?
