driving down the road big puff of smoke under dash ammeter fried    hmm  ill just jumper the wires together  sweet car turns over  hmm no spark   3 weeks rewiring a ton of stuff from the crappy bulkhead (needed it done anyway)and everyone should go through theirs  still no spark.............changed ecm and blam back on the road .......... i guess my guestion is did the ammeter failure blow the ecm or vica versa  i cleaned and replaced any questionable wires and contacts did mad electricals ammeter bypass am i ok now  or is there any thing else i should watch for   i also now have a nice little volt meter any suggestions on where to mount?

hard to say what happened first , my guess is the ammeter let go first
