Both the 46RH and the 46RE are electronic.
The 46RH 1st 2nd and 3rd are hydraulic no eletrical needed but OD is electric, you will need a switch for OD and a switch for Lock-up if so equipped.
A lock-up style 46RH will have a smooth pilot on the tip of the input shaft and three wires going to the OD/LU connector (middle wire is 12 volts, outer wires are grounds for LU and OD solenoids)
Non lock-up will have two wires on same connector.(above neutral safety switch).
Non lock-up can use a 727 stall converter.
The 46RE is totally electonic requiring a computer to shift (1996 -on) all are lock-ups .
