WTB - Spare Tire "Clamp" Tie Down Plate?
« on: June 20, 2006 - 08:40:31 AM »

I am needing that piece that sits below the wingnut.  At the moment the spare in the back of the 'Cuda has the tire rod then the tire on top then the wingnut, no round metal piece.

I've search eBay with no luck. Anyone making repros or have one for sale?

Cheers,
Carl

I am not real familiar with the newer E's but that looks like an A body setup to me. 1970 and 1971 E's use the base of the bumper jack (flipped upside down) as the retainer plate.

Oops, sorry guys, Barry.  :swaying: I got that photo from an A-Body eBay advert. I was just using it so you guys knew what I was talking about.  I haven't found one yet, I don't think repros are being made.  :-[

All E's used the jack base as a tire hold down.

Thanks for that.

I've got an after market portable trolley jack so I might just make up a metal round piece to fit snugly under the wingnut.
