pinion angle? 8.75 housing
« on: June 22, 2006 - 05:54:57 PM »
Alrighty.... I have the two 8.75's sitting on a table, perches facing down and  parallel to the tabletop.  looking from the end of the housing...the mounting flange for the pig is nearly vertical.   What should this angle be?  When I look from the drivers side, both housings appear to have the pig mounting face rotated UP (clockwise).   I know people said 5-7 degrees, pig nose down...but how does this relate to the perches?   I'm getting more confused...

Is the angle 6 degrees  perch to pig?  or 3 on the rear...3 on the trans?

the spring is also curved / arced & it is far further forward than center + the front spring mount is lower than the rear , so you need to mount it on the spring & put full weight on the suspension before measuring the angle , at that point you can either move the seats or install shims to correct the angle
