Heater box
« on: June 29, 2006 - 10:08:16 AM »
This may sound stupid, but... what the heck. I am restoring my heater / ac box and don't know how to paint it. Figured on using rattle can paint, but by looking at mine in it's current state, I can't tell if it was flat black, gloss black or for that matter, even black. My box looks almost a dark brown. My question is, flat black, semi gloss or gloss?    Thanks..

Factory units did not get painted, they are just bare reaction molded resin & glass alloy material (reaction injection molded, not fiberglass) so anything you paint it with will be incorrect.

Thanks for that info. So much for painting mine then......  Actually kinda ugly that way, but if that's the way it was, that's the way it will stay.
