Thanks everyone for the words of incouragement. It's hard to just sit here with the last bit of parts to put in sitting on the garage floor--but I an forceing myself to be patient   :pullinghair:  Just a side note--- in coming out of the desert I stopped at the emergency room of the Emmett,Idaho hospital first. I was hooked up to a ekg machine and checked out, and after a while the doc told me it probably was'nt cardiac -- that I might of pulled or torn a chest muscle--and to go home, take lots of tylonol, and rest and to follow up with my own doctor. I basically toughed out a major heart attack for 2-3 days and when I saw my own doc on WEd. afternoon and told her what was up--it wasnt till then that they rushed me to emergency room from her office. So if your dealing with a major medical problem it doesnt hurt to get a second opinion if things just dont seem right.  Thanks again everyone.

I'm glad you're okay.  The car can definitely wait longer, but any health issues you may have are much more important to attend to than the car.

Aren't they supposed to do a blood test to check for certain enzymes which occur after a heart attack?  I know they did that with my mom on everyone one of her 5 heart attacks.

Dear Bentpshrods,
My husband went through pretty close to the same thing as you.  The only differnce with him was he did not have a heart attack.  His VA Doctor told him he needed to lose some weight.  He listened to the Doctor and lost a lot of weight.  One day we went for a walk and he started having pressure in his chest.  We thought at first it maybe because he was walking up a hill.  The next night he was just watching TV and he started feeling the same pressure again at rest.  He said he just didn't feel right and his blood pressure was up.  He went to the VA Hospital and they did all the test and they all came back normal.  Of course the first thing they usually tell you is it is acid or gas.  Well he knew it wasn't either one.  The VA sent him home and said for him to take an acid pill.  That same night he was feeling the pressure again so this time he went back to the VA and told them they were going to admit him and find out what was going on.  Luckily they admited him and did a die test and found out he had blockage in 2 of his arteries.  The blockage was pretty bad so he is very lucky he did not have a heart attack.  To make a long story short he has had to go back for the same symptoms 4 times in 3 years.  The first time was blockage the last 3 times is because his stents are reblocking with scar tissue.  The VA did not use medicated stents instead they used bare metal stents.  The bare metal stents have a bad habit of reblocking with scar tissue.  The medicated stents keep the scar tissue from forming and blocking up the stent.  Do you know if they used medicated stents with your procedure?  If they did the chances of reblockage are pretty slim.  My husbands body heals super fast so within a couple of months he had to go back twice to have more stents put in to unblock the first stents.  Now he has the medicated stents so we are hoping he will not have anymore problems.  You really appreciate life more when something like this happens.  Are you on a lot of medications?  My husband is on a lot.  Poor thing can not take the heat now because of the medications he is on.  Good luck with your stents.  If you have any questions or just want to talk we are here for you.  Take it easy and work on your Cuda when you start feeling better.  My husband built Blofish after he had his stents put in.  He got so depressed because of this that he decided he had to do something or he would go crazy.  So he built Blofish with his stents and all.  Have a wonderful 4th.

Thanks Pink Ice. They did put in medicated stents so this sounds encouraging. Right now I am just taking it very easy--no exercising , no lifting and plenty of rest till I see the doc next week. It is even harder to be patient because UPS just this evening delivered my new TTI exhaust system with ss tips.   :bananasmi  It is definately a life changing event --but by taking things slowly I'll be able to change things around. The first thing to go was the table salt(I salted everything) and with a few more lifestyle changes I'll be back on the road to better health.   Doug

Doug,
You are looking at this change with the right attitude.  You are right with less salt and changing some of your habits you will feel better.  My husband is a private pilot as well as a lover of Mopar.  He was really down after he had his stents because he lost his medical and now can not fly.  Flying for him was the greatest thing he has ever done.  One reason is because it is hard to get your pilot's license but it sure is easy to lose your medical and not be able to fly anymore.  When you have something happen like my husband did you are required to wait 6 months before you try to get your medical back.  This gives you enough time to see if you will have any more problems.  Well after just 2 months he had to go back into the Hospital for scar tissue blocking up the stents.  They got him fixed up again by putting more stents in.  2 months later the same thing (scar tissue).  This last time was in February of this year and it had been 2 years.  All of his stenst now are medicated so hopefully he will not have anymore problems.  Once they are in they can not be removed so the Doctors put the medicated stents inside the nonmmedicated stenst.  The main reason he built Blofish was to give him something to do.  We sold our airplane and our hangar and got back into the Cuda's.  I am so glad you are doing okay now.  Remember if you have any of the same symptoms you had before go back to your Doctor or the ER.  My husband is very lucky he did not have a heart attack any of the times.  He knows what the symptoms are and he goes to the ER or Hospital as soon as he feels the symptoms.  Hope you have a Happy 4th.  If you ever need to talk to someone who has been there and done that let me know and I will have my husband answer any questions you may have.
