Need Help Identifying Firewall Mount Memory Failing
« on: July 22, 2006 - 04:32:01 AM »
Hi Everyone!

I am working oon repairing some rust in my '70 Barracuda firewall and seem to have forgotten what gets mounted by a couple of screws to it. The general location is to the right of the e-brake setup and left of where the brake pedal set up. Please see pic.

1- My Barracuda has 2 screws that mount ________________???? Anyone know what these screws mount? The '74 Challenger donor car has the same mounting place but no holes or screws.

2- Also why the Barracuda has them but not the Challenger?

It looks like the right area to mount the manual foot washer pump to me.

if you have other goofy gran coupe questions, I've got one too (assuming on your login name) along with a lot of pics
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

Hi Barry, are you sure this is for the manual washer pump?

I have an electric washer pump.

My T/A has two screws in the same spot, but there is nothing attached to them. If the holes were pre-punched they may have just put screws in them to close the holes?

T/Ake care,
Barry

Hey Barry awesome, that's exactly what I wanted to hear! No wonder I can't remember what went there! And it makes sense that the sheetmetal I am using from the '74 Challenger wouldn't have those holes. I may have some more numbers for yer registry, I have to check out the numbers on the parts car I got the cowl/firewall from if it isn't already listed. Thanks again! Sean
