I just checked out the megasquirt web site. I have to admit it is very intriguing, I am a bit of a computer geek and this looks like it could be a whole lot of fun for not much money. Putting together a system and making it run would be very self gratifying.

The Holley TBI unit was from the Holley Pro-jection units that were JUNK.  I see them pop up on ebay now and then but you just need  the TBI unit without all othe junk computer.  There is a company called Promax that is selling complete megasquirt units with their own 8 injector throttle body that bolts onto your 4BBL intake.. Look them up and call them.

There is another place called www.massfloefi.com that does f.i. for any engine and comes with a mass air flo meter.  Much easier to set up and run with.  Not as much computer fiddling.

For the price of $3750, and that doesn't include the $650 fuel system,  I would go with the Edelbrock system for $2700.   I would rather deal with a company with a big R&D dept. like Edelbrock.

Now ive got myself thinking in another direction. I am seeing 5.7L hemis on ebay for under 3grand. And i just read an article that got 493hp out of a bone stock 5.7 with just headers and a cam swap with an aftermarket ECU (FAST). So now im thinking i can swap out a 5.7, port the heads and get a little more aggressive with it and get 550hp wich is about what my 440 has. For a little more money than i would spend if i just slap an an EFI on my 440. Plus it probably weighs 200lbs lighter.

Just kinda dreaming right now, but this could turn serious quick if i get a lead on a 5.7 real cheap

I was reading someplace that the new HEMI is 200 lbs lighter than a small block. Anybody hear this?
Also, the bell housing has the same bolt pattern as the small block but you will need an adapter from JVX out of Tn. I think there at.

Read it again.  They had to do a lot of work to get the FAST computer to work.  Didn't they have to change out or add some parts from a mustang to get the FAST computer to time correctly.  It was impressive though.
