Is Challenger and Cuda Glass Interchangeable?
« on: April 01, 2006 - 09:33:01 PM »
Here is a good question, can challenger Door glass be used in a 'Cuda and visa-versa?

And if it is, are there any differences in the glass year to year (70-74)?

Hmmmmm, I don't think so. None of the panels fit either car, doors etc so with that in mind it's hard to see the Cuda glass fitting. Only thing that throws me off is I have seen listings on eBay for "Glass - Cuda or Challenger".

Though, that was on eBay so those kinds of statements maybe non-factual.  :clueless:

I have both cars in the driveway so,.....    The Cuda rear windows are round at the lower corners, where the challengers are squared.  Cuda rear quarter glass is squared off where Challengers are rounded.    From the side view, the door glass looks the same but I didn't measure them.  Winshields look the same BUT I didn't measure them.
Don't the glass companies list Cuda and Challenger windshields and side windows as different numbers?

Front door glass is the same on hardtops, yes there are differences between the years.

Would you happen to know what years are interchangable?

Plus there are A-C tinted glass, and non-AC clear glass, unless special-order tint on non A-C car. Look next to the logo on the glass, FACTORY glass says "TINT"

It is an A/C car and the 3 piece of glass that are still on the car are green tint. I was looking at some glass on ebay and those people seem to always list "Cuda / Challenger glass". How is a person supposed to know?

Here is an example. Althought this glass is in poor shape, not sure if it can be polished out.

Differeneces are in location of holes and mounting hardware.  Easiest to get the correct year glass for the year of your car.  Both tinted and non tinted are the same except for the tint.  A/C cars did not get tinted glass standard, you had to order it at extra cost.  The glass in the auction was made in Jan. of '73.

Note the difference from '70 glass below to the one in the auction.
